AI is developing rapidly, and many reports [1] indicate that certain industries will soon be replaced, even in the short term. In fact, more than a decade ago, AI had already replaced some jobs in certain fields. For example, Amazon in the United States and Alibaba's warehouses in China have been using various types of robots to handle warehouse tasks such as storage, item retrieval, packaging, and distribution. This has not only greatly increased work efficiency but also reduced work risks. Robots can work 24 hours nonstop, enhancing efficiency while lowering costs, and reducing employee injuries from lifting heavy objects or working in extreme environments. This undoubtedly makes work management more efficient for businesses and significantly increases customer satisfaction.
Recently, we have also seen robots appearing in various industries, such as hotels, shopping malls, and restaurants, in different job positions. Of course, everyone reacts differently to automation. I personally tried purchasing coffee from a fully automated machine. Although the price was high, it felt somewhat lacking in warmth, so I haven't tried it again. These are just a few examples, and I believe we will see more robots in our lives in the future.
Which professions will not be easily replaced?
Although AI has rapidly developed in recent years, there are still certain industries that will not be easily replaced, such as healthcare, technical fields, education, mental health, public and cybersecurity, creative fields, and green energy. The skills, experience, control abilities, responsiveness, and human touch required in these areas are not easily replaceable.
For example, the aging global population has led to an increasing demand for healthcare, significantly raising the need for medical professionals in various countries. This industry requires not only professional knowledge but also compassionate care abilities. Similarly, teachers and counselors in the education and health sectors require human communication and care, making them irreplaceable.
In other fields, employees need to accumulate a certain level of experience, adaptability skills, technical expertise, and professional knowledge to handle daily tasks, which makes them difficult to replace as well.
How are subjects and grades determined?
Some students choose their subjects not necessarily based on their abilities, interests, or career directions, but often just by referring to grades. If they meet the university's admission requirements based on grades, they may blindly follow this route, leading to many students losing interest in their subjects after the start of the semester or after some time. Worse still, they may find themselves uninterested in their field or job after graduation. Some fortunate students may still be able to switch their career paths or continue their studies after their undergraduate degree, but not every student is lucky enough to change paths after their bachelor’s degree. Therefore, when choosing an undergraduate program, it is important to make appropriate choices and not just select subjects based on grades. Even if they cannot enter their first-choice subject, they can still follow their direction; they just need to take another path forward and ultimately can choose subjects that interest them.
One of the studying abroad option: CEG ONCAMPUS
For students interested in studying abroad, don’t let high school grades affect your choices. Graduating from high school is just the beginning of another journey, and there are preparatory courses available even if grades or English proficiency do not meet the standards. CEG ONCAMPUS institutions are located in Ireland [2], the UK [3], France [4], and the Netherlands [5], each offering different specialized subjects. They provide foundation programs and pre-master's courses for international students. Some subjects also offer the International Year One program, which allows students to progress directly to the second year of an undergraduate degree at partner universities after completing the program. In addition to English classes, there are also study skills classes to help international students adapt to foreign education systems, making it an ideal pathway for students preparing to enter university.
